TWO teams of staff from a Burton shop will be taking part in the London Triathlon to raise money for charity.
Workers from Russell Roof Tiles in Wetmore Lane and Nicolson Way will be running, swimming and cycling to complete the ninth annual triathlon, in the hope of raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Starting with a 750-metre swim in the River Thames, they will then move on to cycling for 20 kilometres and a five-kilometre sprint to the finishing line.
The two teams will join 30 others from the roofing, roofline and window trades to take part in the event, which has more than 13,000 entrants every year.
None of those from Burton who are taking part have ever done anything like this previously. They are aiming to raise £3,000.
Paul McLoughlin, who is organising the event for Russell Roof Tiles, said: "I'm delighted we have such committed teams."
