BURTON’S MP Andrew Griffiths leant his support to a campaign which aims to cut the number of elderly people who die in winter.

Mr Griffiths visited and spoke to members of Age UK Burton ahead of Bobble Day – the charity’s annual campaign which will be marked on Friday.

He said: “Too many older people worry about fuel bills and if they can afford to turn on the heating.”

Lisa Beard of Age UK Burton said: “With so many older people suffering during the winter, it’s more important than ever to protect them from the cold.”
