A MAN who jumped from the roof of a house in Burton is due to appear in court on Wednesday.

Adam Turner escaped serious injury when he leapt from the two-storey property in Clarence Street, opposite Anglesey Primary School, in March.

Turner, 31, who is from Birmingham, faces seven charges following the dramatic incident which saw the street sealed off for hours as onlookers gathered at police cordons.

He held a stand-off with police on the roof for around an hour, dislodging tiles and throwing them from the roof, damaging several cars in the process.

He suffered injuries to his back, as well as cut and bruises, after landing on a car, but was not seriously hurt.

Turner has been charged with six counts of criminal damage as well as a charge of possessing a class B drug and is due to appear before magistrates in Burton.
