Mayfield smash seven to close the gap on leaders

MAYFIELD closed the gap on leaders Willington Blue in BURTON ALBION UNDER-11 DIVISION ONE after a 7-3 win at Outwoods Eagles.

With Willington out of action, Kieran Richardson (2), Jack Edge (2), Ryan Pickering (2) and Harry Breeze netted for Mayfield, while Toby Ganley (2) and Nathan Howell hit back for Eagles.

Alex Banton (5), Adam Palmer (4), Sam Peacock and Bobby Cooke netted as Newhall Rams stuffed struggling Barton Rovers Spartans 11-0.

Whittington Harriers beat Tutbury Tigers 3-2 thanks to strikes from Owen Thomas, Ethan Crane and Oliver Barnard. Scott Allen and Luke Paxton replied for Tigers.

Ashby Ivanhoe are still top of BURTON ALBION UNDER-11 DIVISION TWO after a 6-0 win at Rocester.

On target were Tom Fargher (2), Ben Windridge (2), Malachy O’Callaghan and Cole Meadows-Quinn.

Keeping up the pressure on them are Stretton Eagles, who have played less games. They kept their 100 per cent record intact courtesy of a 7-2 win at Uttoxeter Black.

Kane Tisdall (3), Jack Press (2), Kamren Rai and Ethan Mellor netted, while Uttoxeter replied through Bradley Cope and Alex Bennett.

Winshill Gold’s 5-2 win at Marlborough Rovers Yellow came after strikes from Edward Chandler (3), Jayden Clamp and Bradley Wright. Tom Potter and Sam Jarman pulled two back.

Abbots Bromley took three points after a 3-1 win over Whittington Colts. Charles Plummer (2) and Dominic Afford scored, with William Maloney replying for Whittington.

Marlborough Rovers Black stayed top of BURTON ALBION UNDER-11 DIVISION THREE after an 8-1 thumping of Outwoods Hawks.

Kain Patching (5), Sam Bennion, Brody Lee-Moore and Luke Whitby found the net, while Ben Malkin popped up with the reply for Hawks.

Chellaston Red Sox ended Riverside Black’s 100 per cent start with a 3-1 victory to leapfrog their opponents into second spot. Kion Etete, Tom Wright and Tyler Millington scored for Chellaston, while Ben Warren replied for Riverside.

Nathan Merriman and Oliver Freckleton were on target as Belvedere beat TS Sports 2-0, while Rolleston Black secured a third win of the season, 2-0 at Willington White, as Tyler Boustouller and Jacob Catterall scored.

Netherseal St Peter’s claimed their first point of the season after battling hard in a 4-4 draw with Woodville Rangers Black.

Goals came courtesy of a brace apiece for Xavier Payne and Antoine Young for Netherseal and all four from Liam Spare for Woodville.

Hatton Sports remain top of BURTON ALBION UNDER-11 DIVISION FOUR after a 7-4 win at third-placed Midway.

James Metcalfe helped himself to a double hat-trick, with James Hardgrave adding the other goal as Midway’s 100 per cent record fell apart.

James Burnett scored the only goal as Riverside Red defeated Newhall Lions, while Woodville Blue also beat Winshill Green 1-0 thanks to Tom Joyce.

Doveridge managed to salvage a point after trailing Hilton Sparks 3-0 at half-time. It ended 4-4.

Sebastian Neesam hit a hat-trick for Doveridge and was joined on the scoresheet by Robert Bradley, while Tom Cuthbertson (2), Jonathan Davies and Tom Mitcheson scored for Doveridge.

TS Sports Hammers continue leading the way at the top of WINSHILL SOCCER SCHOOL UNDER-10 DIVISION ONE after a 5-0 triumph over Whittington Villa.

Tommy Gotheridge (2), Ben Prince and Lucas Baldock-Grimes — with his first for the club — ensured maximum points.

Isaac Chinnock netted the only goal of the game to seal the points for Winshill against Marlborough Rovers, while Sam Dorrington (Stretton Eagles) and Charlie Bird (Barton Spartans) ensured their game ended 1-1.

Goals from Max Bosley, Daniel Dodd, Max Peplow and Callum Samson ensured Hilton Harriers Jets beat Chellaston Black Sox 4-0.

Whittington Lasers lost their 100 per cent record in BRIAN MOLE UNDER-10 DIVISION TWO after being held 2-2 by battling Netherseal St Peter’s.

Owen Hair netted twice for Whittington, but it was not enough on the day.

Goals from Toby Smith (2), Cameron Bidder and James Warren helped Riverside Black beat Belvedere Red 4-1, with Cameron Wigley replying.

Santos Ravens and Hilton Flyers drew 2-2. Freddie Plenderleith and Isaac Parker scored for Hilton, while Marcus Deiry and William Matthews netted for Santos.

Goals from Mitchell Bamford, Ryan Bennett, Harry Smith and Joe Wardle ensured Belvedere Blue won 4-1 and kept up the pressure at the top. Josh Buckley replied for Uttoxeter White.

Uttoxeter Juniors, meanwhile, clung on to take their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw at fellow strugglers Ashby Ivanhoe Knights. Charlie Martin scored for Uttoxeter, while Joe Riley replied for Knights.

Barton Hercules made life hard for HARDY SIGNS UNDER-10 DIVISION THREE leaders Albert Village Tornadoes, but went down to a solitary goal from Dilhan Choudary.

TS Villa remain joint top after a 4-0 win over Willington. On target were Benjamin Fido (2), James Pruden and Harrison Mills.

Jack Smith and Taine Garner found the back of the net in a 2-0 win for LRT over basement side Newhall Tigers.

Belvedere White’s 3-1 victory at Chellaston Red Sox came courtesy of goals from Alex Hodson (2) and Gabriel Wild. Josh Goozee replied for Chellaston.

Hatton Sports beat Rolleston Red 2-0 thanks to strikes from Joseph Hall and Jack Hodson-Walker.

Belvedere Black’s 3-2 win over Outwoods Eagles keeps their 100 per cent record intact at the top of the BJFL UNDER-10 DIVISION FOUR.

George Malkin (2) and Aiden Locke netted for Belvedere, while Ben Taberner and Zain Khalid replied for Eagles.

Goals from Cameron Kelly and Lucas Wright sealed a 2-1 away win for TS Rovers, with Ben Franks replying for Alrewas Colts.

Midway ran out 6-0 winners at Marlborough Black as Owen Ward hit a hat-trick and Louis Mawbey a brace. An own goal completed the scoring.

A hat-trick from Robert Samuel ensured Rocester Blue picked up their first win of the season in fine style, 3-0 over struggling Woodville Rangers Blue.

Haydn Brown was the hero for Albert Village Hurricanes as he netted a cool four to seal a 4-1 victory at Outwoods Hawks. Kyran Smith hit back.
