YOUNG apprentices at a Burton fastfood takeaway have been rewarded for their hard work.
An Apprenticeship Awards evenings was held at McDonald's in Station Street.
Fifteen apprentices who graduated over the last 12 months attended the event to receive their certificates.
The apprenticeship qualification is the equivalent to a GCSE level 5 in catering and hospitality.
Over the last four years, a record number of 346 apprentices have graduated through McLean Restaurants Ltd T/A McDonald's, reaching a record annual high in 2012 with 146. Of these individuals 156 have been promoted to staff trainer and 76 to the first rung of the management ladder as shift managers.
Sarah McLean, franchisee, said: "The long-term benefit to the organisation is improved training."
