A BURTON singer could be in with a chance of achieving super stardom after being nominated in a music television award.

“I feel privileged to be nominated for this award amongst some fantastic talented artists, and that is even if I do not win.
“Viewers, fans, Music Express with John Paul Productions, Ltd. have been great in supporting me.”His television debut was on the first series of singing talent show Pop Idol in 2001, where Will Young was eventually crowned champion, and a performance interview with ITV.
He said: “After Pop Idol, I went on to sing, act, perform and manage in many holiday parks across Somerset, Devon and Cornwall as well as stints in Kent and Wales.”
It wasn’t until 2004 that he landed my West End debut in the production of To Die For! performing to a live orchestra in the London Palladium.
Back home in Burton he teamed up with his father Graham Astbury to set up ‘Added Attraction performing Stars & Legends Show’ produced by Roger Parkes which lasted for seven years before his departure in mid 2012.
