PEOPLE in an East Staffordshire village have voted to endorse its neighbourhood plans.
East Staffordshire Borough Council announced that 93.95 per cent of the turnout voted in favour of the Anslow Neighbourhood Plan, with 6.05 per cent voting ‘no’.
The turnout was 34.2 per cent.
This is the first Neighbourhood Plan to get to referendum in East Staffordshire, with 14 more due to be voted on in the coming months.
The plan, written by residents and the parish council in Anslow, will now be ‘made’ by East Staffordshire Borough Council and it will form part of the development plan for the area.
Sonia Andjelkovic, deputy leader for regulatory Services, said: “We are delighted by this result, as it means that residents of Anslow can have a greater influence in the way their communities will change in the future.”
