Newhall man remanded in custody after being charged with explosive offences

A MAN charged in connection with an incident which saw 200 people evacuated from their homes in Newhall over the weekend has been remanded in custody.

Glenn Robinson, 55, of Belvoir Crescent, Newhall,  appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court this morning.

He was charged with one offence under Section 2 of the Explosive Substances Act 1883 (cause an explosion likely to endanger life), one offence under Section 4 of the same act (make an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose) and the production of cannabis.

He was remanded in prison custody.
