A SOUTH Derbyshire pub is to reopen next week following a £150,000 revamp which has created four jobs.
The Wheel, in Midway, is under new management and has been closed for the past four weeks for refurbishment.
The pub is getting a cash injection as management, in partnership with owner Punch Taverns, plot to refurbish it throughout with new décor and facilities.
The boozer has been redecorated, with new flooring and lighting also installed.
Paul Marriott, who has run the Burton Road pub with Nicola Jory since last summer, said: “The pub looks fantastic and I can’t believe the transformation. It has a fresher appearance and looks a lot more welcoming.
“The investment will allow us to strengthen our food offer and cater for families. We want local residents to know there is a great community pub, with something for everyone on their doorstep.
“The team and I look forward to the reopening and welcoming some old and new faces back to the pub to celebrate the new look with us.”
The pub is set for its grand reopening at noon on Thursday, May 22.
