THE total number of positions up for grab’s at this year’s Burton and Uttoxeter Jobs Fair will top 1,200, it has been revealed.
The event at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium on Friday is designed to continue to the fall in unemployment across the area.
Burton MP Andrew Griffiths told the Mail the event, sponsored by digger giant JCB, could prove ‘life-changing for many people’.
He said: “The final total of jobs on offer is over 1,200 which is incredibly encouraging.
“I am absolutely sure that the event on Friday will be life-changing for many people who walk through the door.
“There is such a wide-range of jobs on offer from apprenticeships, to work experience, to technical jobs in engineering and manufacturing.
“Companies like JCB and Marston’s are bringing quality jobs to the jobs fair and that is fantastic for the town.”
Among the latest companies to put up vacancies at the fair are Argos and Waterstones, joining the likes of Nestle, Supergroup and Palletforce.
