QUAD celebrates its fifth anniversary this month and is now well established as the central hub of a major part of arts activity in Derby.
It has put the city on the map for visual arts, curating exhibitions of international significance and has helped the FORMAT photography festival become one of the biggest events of its kind in Europe.
QUAD is also one of the key players in Derby’s annual outdoor arts celebration Feste.
It hosts its own annual film festival, ID Fest, and as well as showing a diverse range of movies, organises Q&As and discussions with leading figures such as Ken Loach and its patron Paddy Considine.
QUAD has organised a number of mass participation projects, including the making of a feature film for Derby,
It’s a hive of creative energy across the arts and works with theatre groups, poets, writers, digital artists and many more on collaborative and in-house projects.
It also offers an extensive education programme from children’s holiday courses to helping adults get a book published.
