A BURTON artist is displaying her work as part of a new exhibition.

Victoria Wolny, of Winshill, is currently presenting ‘Latent State’ at the Emporium in Lichfield.

Miss Wolny will be presenting a body of work which invites the viewer on a journey, to see, to feel and to be touched by art on an emotional level.

She attributes her philosophy, painting technique and passion for colour to her father, the Polish born artist and student of Theosophy Andrzej Blazej Marian Wolny, and features some of his work in the exhibition.

During the Nazi occupation of Poland Victoria’s father, aged 13, painted to support his family.

Due to the short supply of art materials he resorted to ‘recycling’ the many portraits of Hitler, risking death by firing squad.

Over the years Victoria has developed her own particular technique and style, which her large canvasses showcase, involving the manipulation of oil paints through complex layering and knife work.

The exhibition will run until the end of the month.
