* A HOST of businesses honoured at an awards evening organised by the Mail will feature in a special pull-out next week.
Winners of a Burton Mail Business Awars are urged to pick up a copy of the paper on Wednesday for an in-depth look at their success and the glitzy awards bash held at the Pirelli Staidum on Thursday.
Specialised Orthotic Services (SOS), which caters for special seating and mobility needs, scored three awards including both the Environment and Best Use of Innovation and Technology categories.
It was also named the overall Business of the Year.
Other winners included the Seasoned Cookery School, whose inspirational courses in the culinary arts at Catton Hall earned it the Most Promising New Start-up Award, and Burton Albion Community Trust, which uses the power of sport and the Brewers brand to enrich lives in the community.
The trust took The Small Business of the Year (11 to 20 Employees) Award.
Dave Bryon, the awards director, said:
“The standard of the finalists was truly exceptional and the judging panels were amazed at the quality, success and growth of all the businesses in all the categories.”
The awards are organised in conjunction with Burton Chamber of Commerce and the headline sponsors are East Staffordshire Borough Council and South Derbyshire District Council.
