THE police helicopter was called into action as a group of men fled after their vehicle was pulled over by observant officers.
Derbyshire Police confirmed that the force chopper was helping beat officers search for the men in Church Gresley at around 4pm today.
The search had to be undertaken after beat officers in the area stopped a group of males witnessed ‘acting suspiciously’ in a vehicle.
As officers approached the group, they fled the vehicle before three were later apprehended.
South Derbyshire Section Inspector Nigel Lidsey said: “The three men were talked to at the scene but were not charged.
“However, we have seized the vehicle they were in and some property for further investigation.
“This was great work by the beat officers and hopefully will reassure residents.”
