A WORLD-renowned luxury car firm, which announced it was creating 1,700 jobs earlier this week, will be looking for recruits at tomorrow's Burton and Uttoxeter Jobs Fair.
Jaguar Land Rover revealed it was taking on new staff at its Solihull plant in a massive boost for the Midlands and UK economy.
And in a real coup for the jobs fair, being held at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium tomorrow between 10am and 3pm, the firm will be in attendance.
Organiser and Burton MP Andrew Griffiths, who had previously revealed that 1,200 jobs will be on offer at the event, told the Mail he was 'delighted' such an illustrious company was on board.
He said: "(East Staffordshire Borough Council leader) Richard Grosvenor contacted Jaguar Land Rover and told them that the job fair was going and why not attend and they have jumped at the chance.
"To have a company like Jaguar Land Rover there is a real boost.
"Molson Coors have also said they want to come along and advertise jobs so we will have both of the town's major brewers advertising jobs there as well."
Councillor Grosvenor, who helped bring about Jaguar Land Rover's attendance at the jobs fair, added his delight at the news.
He said: "I am thrilled that we have been able to build on our relationship with Jaguar Land Rover brought about through our membership of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership, to ensure that the first jobs fair they are able to attend after announcing 1,700 new jobs this week, is in Burton.
"It is a fabulous boost to the local area."
Among the other companies advertising jobs at tomorrow's event are JCB, Nestle, Supergroup, Argos, Punch, Kerry Foods and Uttoxeter Racecourse.
