A MAJOR department store says it has ‘no plans’ to come to Burton, the Mail can reveal.
Plans were first revealed in 2011 to bring Debenhams to join a £25 million extension to Cooper's Square shopping centre which has never materialised. The shopping centre was then sold to asset management company F & C Reit.
Today, after two years of silence, Debenhams has finally revealed to the Mail it has 'no plans' to come to the town, with a spokesman for the department store, saying: ‘We have no plans to come to Burton at this stage but are constantly reviewing our future opportunities’
