STRONG winds have caused disruption in Burton and South Derbyshire, this morning.
A fallen tree brought rush hour traffic to a standstill in Burton while the conditions have also impacted tourist attractions in the region.
Calke Abbey, near Ticknall, took the decision to close its doors due to possible hazards, with bosses believing its many trees could pose a risk to the public.
Findern Garden Centre also had to deflate its 30ft inflatable Santa Claus due to the strong winds.
The region has been put on alert for strong winds, with much of the country set to be battered by winds of up to 80mph.
