Baby swimming club lifts award

A SWIMMING club for babies has won an award for the quality of its activities — for the second year running.

Water Babies, which specialises in teaching babies how to swim from birth, holds lessons at Barton Aquadome, at Thomas Russell Junior School, in Gilmore Lane, Barton under Needwood, led by instructors Jon and Cathy Wright, from Tutbury.

The club has now scooped the Best Baby Development Activity Award, organised by internet directory www.whatson4littleones.co.uk, after receiving the most online votes from parents.

The programmes teach techniques to help children develop crucial life-saving skills, enabling them to swim short distances.

Mr Wright said: "To have won this national award again totally reflects on the dedication of the whole Water Babies team,"

"It takes a lot of commitment and stamina to be a Water Babies instructor. Their dedication is reflected in just how many votes we garnered — and we’re really grateful to all our clients for taking the time to nominate us."
