STAFF at a Burton garden centre have been sent back to the 80s by displaying an array of colourful costumes to raise more than £200 for charity.
Staff and customers at Byrkley Garden Centre, in Byrkley Drive, near Rangemore, raised an amazing £220 for Comic Relief, with a day of fancy dress and donation buckets at the checkouts.
The staff at the centre chose the theme of the ‘80’s for their fancy dress challenge and swapped their day to day uniforms for a mix of neon, denim and the odd mullet haircut.
Two members of The Young Ones from the 80s comedy series starring Rik Mayall, one half of the Blues Brothers and a selection of Madonnas were just some of the many characters entertaining the crowds on the day.
Abbie McHolm, marketing manager, said: “A fantastic day was had by all.”
