YOUNGSTERS put on their dancing shoes for the filming of a dance routine which could see them head to London.

Dancers from the Stephanie Parrott School of Dance dressed in a sea of pink for the filming, at Bannatyne’s Health Club, in Burton.

The video, along with others, will now be sent to judges at the Royal Academy of Dance who will pick a winner based on the video with the most inspiring routine.

The school with the winning dance routine will then win a place to perform at the Royal Academy of Dance in London.

Stephannie Parrott, who orchestrated the routine, said: “The children absolutely love it because they were able to dance what they felt. Youngsters don’t have any inhibitions so it was lovely.”

The dance routine was based on the children’s Disney cartoon Barbie in the Pink Shoes.

Mrs Parrott, who has run her own dance school since 1999, said: “The day was very well attended.

“We had children came from all over the Midlands area for the lesson and we hope it will encourage them to take up ballet.”
