Blood success

Written byBY MARK MCKAY

BLOOD donors in South Derbyshire helped to make a national campaign a success.

In Derbyshire, 2,496, people donated blood as part of the NHS Blood and Transplant service’s 100,000 donors in 100 days campaign.

The campaign aimed to make up a shortfall in new blood donors. The target was reached two weeks early.

The new sign ups will help to ensure future blood stocks are protected.
