12/03/13 bollard smash - High St,, BurtonAnother driver has hit the bollards on High St in Burton Town Centre at the Library endA YOUNG driver, who had only recently passed her test, was left counting the cost of not seeing signs pointing out rising town centre bollards.
The 19-year-old women’s 51 plate Peugeot 206 suffered extensive damage to its front end and leaqked a trail and oil from the car after she tried to follow a bus into a restricted part of town.
The crash happened at about 1pm yesterday at the end of High Street, near Burton Library.
The driver’s father, told the Mail: “She’s a new driver – it should be a £30 fine rather than bollards.
“She’s only just passed her test – the damage is disproportionate to the offence – with the technology we have this is just stupid.”
