STAFF at a Burton building society donned their running shoes in an effort to raise much needed funds for a good cause.
Workers at Britannia, in Station Street, took turns on a treadmill situated in the branch and asked customers to dig deep and support its chosen charity – The Carers Trust.
Five members of staff took time out of their busy day to take turns running – eventually clocking up 35 miles between them before the end of the working day and raising £113 for the charity that supports young carers.
Leanne King, customer relationship adviser, told the Mail: “We wanted to do something a bit different to raise money for charity, so we all put on our running gear and decided to run on a treadmill to raise some much needed cash for a great cause.
“We ran a total of 35 miles during the day and raised more than £100 for charity.
“We would like to thank all the customers who dug deep and took the time to support us.”
