A BURTON company has played a central role in relocating a cheese company’s production line to Staffordshire.
Lorien Engineering, based in the Centrum 100 Business Park, has helped Adams Foods Limited move its packing lines from Somerset to Leek.
Adams Food Ltd, which owns well-known brand Pilgrim’s Choice, is the UK’s leading supplier of pre-packed hard cheese.
It was also the pioneer company in launching grated and sliced cheese in the UK market.
It is hoped the move will see all cheese production lines move to Leek where an innovation centre is being built.
Lorien Engineering will be responsible for the building design, managing the project and building the new production facility.
Phil Colquhoun, project manager at Lorien Engineering, said: “A fixed cost for this project was essential for the board approval.
“We have worked hard with local suppliers of many disciplines to assemble this project within the budget assigned.”
Lorien Engineering is an engineering design and project management organisation with bases in Burton and Wroclaw, Poland.
The company has been awarded six distinctions from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for its healthy and safety record.
