BURTON’S RSPCA centre has been given the go ahead to build a cat isolation unit to cope with its growing feline problem.

Stretton’s branch has been given permission by East Staffordshire Borough Council to build the unit to maintain its RSPCA registration status, and allow it to welcome new animals.

The unit will enable new cats entering the site to be checked over before being allowed access into the cattery and mixing with other cats, to prevent cross infection

The unit is to be temporary until the cattery and kennels are built.
