Centre hands out flowers for Mother's Day

Written byROB SMYTH

STAFF at a Burton shopping centre helped women in the town celebrate Mother’s Day in a unique way.

Workers at Coopers Square Shopping Centre handed out free bunches of daffodils to Mums in and around the town.

Thanks to the centre’s tenants association, who gave some of their funds to supply the flowers, 3,000 daffodils were handed out to shoppers on Saturday in time for Mother’s Day.

David Chadfield, centre manager, said: “Handing out the daffodils was a lovely idea and it’s great to see the tenants using their money to give something back to our loyal customers.

“We have many free events and initiatives planned throughout the year and this week we have artist, Alistair Kennedy displaying his latest work.

“Over Easter we have a free interactive Easter hunt for little ones where they can search for the hidden chocolate eggs around the Centre and in April the spring and summer fashion show.”
