A CHARITY boss has urged people to make a potentially life saving New Year resolution for 2014.
The first aid charity St John Ambulance has produced a six-second video which shows how to recognise a heart attack.
The charity released the video after revealing 97 per cent of people in the West Midlands break New Year resolutions.
In the UK, a third of the 92,000 people who suffer from heart attacks each year die as a result.
Keith Hunter, regional director for the charity, said watching the clip could be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
He said: “We want to give people the chance to make an achievable and potentially life saving New Year resolution.
“Help us reduce heart attack deaths by watching our quick steps on how to spot a heart attack, and share it with your friends.
“We hope it isn’t but this could be the year you need to use it.”
