A TEAM of golfers swapped their clubs for walking boots to raise more than £3,000 for charity.
Rebecca Smith, lady captain of Branston Golf and Country, based off Fairway, and fellow golfers took part in a 20 mile walk to raise money for Burton Breast Care fund.
It took the group eight hours to complete the challenge, which took place along the North Wales Coast.
She chose to support the fund, which uses donations to buy new equipment and fund new treatments at Queen’s Hospital, after she lost her mother, Kate, 23 years ago to breast cancer.
The lady captain told the Mail: “It was a testing challenge in tough conditions but it was all worth it in the end. “We are set to raise more than £3,000 but we are also still accepting donations if anyone would like to dig deep and help a good cause.”
