BURTON and South Derbyshire College is part of an exciting initiative to share best practice and address skills shortages in India.

The Lichfield Street site is part of a bid to launch a pilot training programme in Lavasa, a planned hill city in Maharashtra.

The objective of the MoU is to improve the skills of the workforce in the construction and security sectors, providing them with better employment opportunities.

Burton and South Derbyshire College is involved in the project as part of the Association of Colleges in India, which brings together UK and Indian partners to provide world class vocational education and training programmes.

Chief executive and principal of Burton and South Derbyshire College Dawn Ward said: “Our aim is to revolutionise the way providers tackle the ever-evolving skills demand.”
