COLLEGE students attended a music workshop where they rubbed shoulders with industry experts.
The Burton and South Derbyshire College students met with experts from music manufacturer Roland UK who dished out advice about careers in the industry to the youngsters.
The workshop paves the way for the formal launch of a new music academy which will be launched at the college this autumn.
The academy will provide students the opportunity to gain essential skills needed to make it as a musician and allow them to develop their own musical and creative talent.
Jodie Wilson, head of the music department at the college, said: “The workshop sessions were a great success and an excellent start to our partnership with Roland UK.
“It was good to have live music being performed in the college, as we prepare for the formal launch of the new academy later in the year.
“Our ability to provide first class music courses will be enhanced by the addition of the dedicated facilities on offer as part of our partnership.”
