PLANS to build a two storey extension have been refused by council officers deeming them too prominent.
Mr W Ishfaq had applied to East Staffordshire Borough Council for permission to extend 202 Rolleston Road, Burton, as well as making internal alterations.
However, council planners said in their report: “The extension would form a prominent addition which, through the use of an inappropriate design, specifically the scale, massing, and siting of the structure, would erode the current prevailing open character of this part of the street scene, to the detriment of the character and appearance of the area.”
Another refusal was made on the site of Woodlands Hall Grounds, in Rolleston On Dove, after Alex Grant had applied to the borough council for permission to chop down a protected Sycamore tree.
Planning officers said: “It is considered that the loss of the tree would harm the visual amenity of the locality.”
