A COUNCIL is hoping to modify a map after it discovered a right of way has been blocked off.
Ashby Woulds Town Council was asked about Leicestershire County Council blocking off a right of way at Beehive Wood, Moira, and the legal position the town council had.
A representative of North West Leicestershire District Council’s community focus team said the county council had confirmed it was not a right of way and as such was not marked on the definitive rights of way map.
The town council has now learnt that the only way forward is to apply for a definitive map modification order.
An application form has been requested and will be forwarded to the clerk with more information.
The route will need to be evidenced that it has been in use for more than 20 years.
