SO did you have a good Christmas? A safe and happy one I hope. Can I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New year.

I have no doubt that you will have followed good crime prevention advice and not left gifts on display, so don’t spoil the rest of your Christmas break by advertising what Santa has brought you by stacking all those empty boxes outside your door or near your wheelie bin.

It maybe sometime before your rubbish is collected and burglars will be on the look out for rich pickings.

Now, please take a look at this week’s list of crimes and see if you can help.

CRIME 1

BURGLARY

Between 9.30pm and 10.15pm on Thursday, December 26 offenders went to the rear garden of a house in Orchard Close, Willington and force the doors of two sheds. However, the thieves did not manage to get into the sheds and made off empty handed. Were you in the area around these times and did you see anyone acting suspiciously? CRIME 2

BURGLARY

Between 6.45pm and 7pm on Thursday, December 19 offenders smashed the rear patio door of a house in Nene Way, Hilton. Once inside thieves searched the house but no property was stolen. Were you in the area around this time and did you see the burglars? If so then call the crimestoppers team now and quote reference: 53641/13

CRIME 3

THEFT FROM CAR

Between Wednesday, December 18 and Friday, December 20 offenders went to a white Renault Clio car that was parked in a car park in Canal Bridge, Willington. Thieves then stole the front number plate. CRIME 4

THEFT FROM CAR

Overnight between Thursday, December 26 and Friday, December 27 offenders got into a white Audi car that was parked in the driveway of a house in The Beehives, Newhall. Thieves then stole a laptop computer and camera from the boot. Do you know who is responsible for this theft? CRIME 5

DAMAGE

Overnight between Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24 offenders went to a white Seat car that was parked in Wilmot Road, Swadlincote.
