THROUGHOUT this month, the Mail’s David Broome is taking on the ‘Veganuary’ challenge – to go through the whole month of January on a vegan diet. Here, in a daily diary, he charts his progress.
I ate dinner out for the first time since taking on the Veganuary challenge today.
I was meeting up with friends at a curry house, and on arrival I checked with the staff, who showed me which meals were vegan-friendly.
I ended up having a vegetable dansak, which was pretty tasty, and didn’t leave me anywhere near as bloated as curry usually does.
Breakfast: Blueberries, grapes and soya yoghurt with granola.
Lunch: Corn and courgette soup with bread.
Tea: Vegetable dansak with garlic naan and chips
