A DENTAL practice in Burton could soon have recognition for the hard work and dedication of staff, after it was named as a finalist for three national dentistry awards.
Beaufort Dental Health Centre, on Rosliston Road, has made it to the final in the Dentistry Awards, which recognise regional and national excellence in dentistry, as well as those practices which continually strive to improve standards in patient care.
The Burton team is competing in three categories – best team, best practice and most outstanding team member.
Dentists Melanie Moody and Gail Cadwallader said they were both thrilled that the practice had made it to this stage, and particularly proud of practice manager Clare Gouldsmith, who is the outstanding team member up for that award.
Mrs Gouldsmith said: “We put ourselves forward for the awards after patients kept telling us that what we do is so outstanding compared to what they have had before.
“We’ve had a lot of wonderful testimonials.
“If we won it would be good as it shows we are looking after our patients and we are continuously developing. That’s important.”
She added that she was ‘really excited’ about her nomination as best team member, as she always tried to do the best thing for her patients.
Mrs Gouldsmith started working in dentistry 20 years ago.
The team has been invited along to the awards ceremony, taking place in Leicester on December 6, when they will find out whether or not they have been successful in their attempts.
Beaufort Dental Health Centre has been running for 20 years. They were based elsewhere in the town, but moved to the premises on Rosliston Road about seven years ago.
Last month, staff held a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support and raised a total of £175 towards the charity.
