KIND-hearted football supporters helped Burton Albion Community Trust and a team of volunteers raised money for community projects in Africa and Burton at the Brewers’ festive fixture.
The trust and a group of local volunteers will be travelling to Ghana next year to take part in education and sports coaching projects.
Jack Trigg, community administrator at the trust, told The Mail: “Fund-raising for the visit is now in full swing and the Boxing Day fixture at the Pirelli Staidum seemed an ideal place to ask for the support of the fans from both teams. We are delighted with the response to our bucket collection before the match and at half time.”
Deb Bacon, who will be joining the trust on the visit to Ghana, said: “We raised nearly £720 at the match and saw another Burton win at the same time.”
