Driver dies after crash outside railway station
A MOTORIST has died after crashing into a lamppost outside Burton railway station last night (Friday).
A green Ford Fusion car was travelling towards Burton Town Centre in Borough Road at around 6.10pm when it left the road and hit a lamppost.
The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police closed the road for a short period while investigations were carried out and are now appealing for any witnesses to contact Sergeant 5714 Edwards at Burton Police Station by calling either 0300 123 44 55 or 101.
