RESIDENTS will no longer be in kept completely in the dark following a power cut thanks to a new online service being launched by electricity firm Western Power.
The service will keep residents and businesses affected by a power shortage informed on how workers are responding to the situation and how long they are expected to be left without power.
By entering their postcode at the website - www.westernpower.co.uk - follow the progress in their area and also see who else is affected.
The electricity firm decided to install the service following discussions with customers.
Western Power’s corporate communications officer Michael Clarke said: “We listened to their feedback and focused on developing an improved level of information about power cuts, while also improving the usability and look of the website.
“We have done that, and the general feedback has been positive. We are continuing to look at ways to develop the site for our customers.”
