A BURTON drama school celebrating its 24th year in existence is holding an enrolment day next weekend as it goes on the lookout for more talented young thesps.
The Anne Lee School of Speech and Drama is an unique self-funding establishment and has achieved a terrific reputation over its near quarter of a century in the town.
Principal Anne Lee Draycott told the Mail: “The school has survived two recessions due to the passion and need in the community for a specialised drama and communications school.
“The school has helped young and old in confidence building, effective communication and educational progress.
“There has been a 100 per cent pass rate year on year for the International Trinity London Examinations which has provided students with valuable UCAS points for chosen universities.”
Along with the teaching there has been several charity events performed by the students in nursing homes, hospitals and hospices and they raised over £100 for Macmillan nurses at an event last year.
It holds an enrolment day on Saturday, September 7 from 9.30am until 1pm at Rangemore House, in Rangemore Street.
