AN event dedicated to helping people in South Derbyshire save energy and the environment will take place this weekend.
Bosses at Etwall-based Solar panel installer, C Changes Ltd, decided to help householders in the area by organising the ‘Energy Saving and Eco Fair’ from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday at Hilton Village Hall.
C Changes Ltd has brought together a number of firms from across the area to provide information on a wide range of energy-efficient technologies and eco-friendly products and ideas.
Jeremy Fisk, of C Changes Ltd, said: “Since we started C Changes in 2007, it has always been our intention to give helpful, honest advice to everyone about ways of reducing their energy consumption to save money and help the environment at the same time.
“We know that people have questions on a wide range of technologies, so we wanted to organise this fair to bring together experts in all the different fields.
“We hope that it will prove popular and interesting to the public and that everyone will learn something from the event and find out more about local companies that are available to help
“It is thought to be the first local event of its kind, dedicated to providing advice on how to save energy and help the environment.”
There will be companies providing advice on a wide range of renewable technologies, including solar electric, solar hot water, biomass boilers, heat pumps and wind turbines.
There are also two companies attending which are accredited to provide loft insulation and solid wall insulation under the government’s new Green Deal scheme.
In addition, there are a wide range of organisations and charities attending to answer questions on areas such as composting and recycling.
Entrance to the fair is free and refreshment will be available.
While adults gather information, there will be opportunities for children to build bird feeders and cards from recycled materials and ride a smoothie bike to make their own smoothie drink.
