A DORMANT pub is set to be transformed as part of a plan to provide new housing in an East Staffordshire village.

The Brickmakers Arms in Anslow is set to be converted into living space under the plan, with a further four detached houses to be built nearby.

The proposals have been submitted by Winterley Developments Ltd and would see a new access road built to accompany the new homes.

The report on behalf of the firm said: “The pub is not a valued part of the local community. The car park and gardens could provide a decent setting for suitable family housing with gardens.

“The proposed uses are wholly residential and will comprise four new build detached homes with a mixture of integral and detached garages together with extensions and alterations to the former public house to form a detached dwelling.”
