French day is a big success

Written byROB SMYTH

YOUNGSTERS in South Derbyshire certainly have that ‘je ne sais quoi’.

As part of French Day celebrations at The Pingle School, nearby primary schools joined in with the French fun.

Year Five pupils from Eureka Primary School, Springfield Junior School, Pennine Way Academy, Fairmeadows Primary School and St George’s Primary School were all treated to a French themed day at the Coronation Street school.

Sue Mays, french teacher at Pingle, told the Mail: “The whole school were dressed in French football shirts, stripes and all things red, white and blue.

“The art department painted in the style of French artist Robert Delaunay and the music department got everyone in the mood with French music such as ’Au clair de la lune’.”
