PAGET SCHOOL GCSE EXAMINATION HEADLINES 2010

Paget School has yet again improved on the previous best beating the target set for 5 @A* - C by 9% to achieve 66%.

The Headteacher, Don Smith, said “This is another major step forward in the progress of Paget School with the results being a just reward for all the hard work which pupils have put in, supported by a committed staff and caring parents.”

10% of Y11 pupils achieved 15 or more GCSEs with C or above. One girl, Samiya Taj, gained 18 GCSEs at C or above;  Laura Bray gained 16 full GCSEs and one short course GCSE with all grades being A or A*. This is a massive achievement and Laura will build on this in Paget VI Form. Indeed, Laura and 8 other Y11 pupils have already achieved an AS – one year early. The scale of Paget’s highest achievers is such that 35% of Y11 achieved 10 or more GCSEs at C or above.

Luize Sirsnina, who joined Paget speaking no English only 18 months ago, passed 14 GCSEs with C or above.

Even Y10 pupils have shared in the success with Paget’s early entry policy. Both Charlie Reid and Sabba Chaudhry have passed 7 GCSEs at C or above and they haven’t even started Y11 yet! They are joined by 14 other pupils who have 5 GCSEs with C+ at the end of Y10.

Results for 2011 are promising to be even better than 2010.
