William Allitt School, in Sunnyside, Newhall, maintained its record from the last two years, with 62 per cent of students achieving at least five grades A* to C, with 51 per cent of those including English and maths, down slightly from 53 per cent last year.

Outgoing head teacher John Crossley told the Mail: “We’ve maintained the improvements made in previous years and plans have put in place which the new head will take over in a couple of weeks, which should see further improvements in the years to come.”
