TWO East Staffordshire companies have secured business grants.
Crescent Motors, currently based in Victoria Crescent, Burton, will use the money to relocate to larger premises and create three jobs while independent solicitor Smith Woodcock Ltd will move premises and create a managerial position.
The money has come from the East Staffordshire Borough Counci’s business development fund which aims to provide financial assistance to businesses in the borough.
Steve Tallett, director of Crescent Motors Ltd, said the firm will relocate to Wetmore Road.
He said: “The overall cost of a project like this can be restrictive financially but the funding will enable us to carry out the works needed to bring our new premises to a much higher standard, ensuring our customers the high standards they expect.”
Leader of the borough council Richard Grosvenor said: “The council is making a significant investment in the local economy by supporting businesses to allow them to grow.”
Businesses which want to apply for the scheme must submit an application with their business proposal, including project costs, how much grant is required and how many jobs will be created.
