A BANK has managed to raise more than £7,000 for a local charity which enables families with children with life limiting illnesses to go on holiday.

HSBC chose Me & Dee as one of its charities of the year and as a result has been dropping money into its bank account all year which means the charity can continue to produce Comfort Packs for hospitals as well as provide the holidays.

Maria Hanson, founder of Me & Dee, said: “It is absolutely amazing they have raised this much.

“Each month we struggle to make sure we can make Comfort Packs and send families on holidays which cost about £100 each time so if we didn’t have that money we wouldn’t have been able to put a family in a caravan last summer.”
