THE mid-morning brew will be transformed into a major fund-raising vehicle on Friday morning, as hundreds of people take part in The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Dozens of events have been planned around Burton and South Derbyshire, as organisers try to raise as much money as possible to support the work of Macmillan Cancer Support.
It is now 22 years since the first coffee morning was held for the charity, and since then it has become the biggest and most important fund-raising event for the charity, which funds Macmillan nurses to support people suffering from cancer and their families.
Many of the events are taking place tomorrow morning.
They include coffee mornings at:
l Hanbury Church, Church Lane, from 10am until 12.30pm.
l The Roebuck Inn, Toby’s Hill, Draycott in the Clay, from 10am until noon. In memory of the landlady’s mum.
l Bank House, Swadlincote, organised as a joint venture between Bank House and P3 Hostel, from 2pm until 5pm.
