A HAIRDRESSER who offered a free cut, shave and mince pie to homeless people and rough sleepers has vowed to offer the service again after a successful inaugural session.
Caz Brown, who runs Blades Barbers offered the service to 10 users of the Burton YMCA Reconnect centre, in James Street.
The 42-year-old, who has run the business, in New Street, for 14 years, said: “I’m so happy and I feel really proud of everyone involved.
“We have had guys come in and they have all totally appreciated it. They are full of life and loving it.
“They say it has been fantastic and it has been an absolutely pleasure.”
One of the men who took advantage of the offer was 41-year-old Andrew Smith.
He told the Mail: “It has been really great, all the staff have done a fantastic job.
“I have had a short back and sides which looks pretty dapper.”
Mrs Brown said she came up with the idea after one of her clients, who works for the YMCA in Burton, told her about the work the charity does to help vulnerable families and homeless people in the town.
