Homes light up the skies this Christmas

Written byHELEN KREFT

HOMES across Burton and South Derbyshire have been lighting up the skies for Christmas.

Mail photographer Simon Deacon has been scouring the area for fantastically festive creations and has found Santa and his reindeer, Christmas robins, snowmen and the twinkling tree lights to brighten up the dark roads.

Simon has discovered decorative homes in Hall Lane, Willington, as well as Kimberley Drive, and Salisbury Avenue, both Winshill.

While Bitham Lane, Stretton has also taken part in the festive fun as has homes in Tutbury Road, Castle Park, and Beacon Road, Rolleston and Forest Edge Way, Horninglow.

A large portion of Stapenhill Road is alive with lights and festive decorations warming the cockles of motorists and pedestrians who are otherwise battling the usual winter weather.

Many lights have been up for more than a month as Christmas fans get into the festive spirit a little earlier than others to make it a day to remember.
