Hunt on for suspects who stole purse from disabled woman

POLICE are attempting to trace two people after a disabled woman’s purse was stolen by opportunistic thieves.

Images have been released of two people suspected of being involved after the purse was taken from the woman while she was leaving a bus in Burton.

The thieves posed as good samaritans after helping the woman off the bus in Anglesey Road, but it was only when they had gone that she noticed her purse, containing a quantity of cash, was missing.

The man is described as Asian, aged 30, 6ft tall, with a heavy build. He had short dark hair, was unshaven and wearing a black coat and BTMS baseball cap.

The woman is described as Asian, 5ft 7ins tall, with a slim build. She had black hair tied back in a ponytail and was wearing dark clothing.

The incident happened at around 1.15pm on November 6.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 360 of November 6. Alternatively they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, police in Derbyshire are investigating a burglary attempt at a house in Overseal.

An attempt was made to force a door in Burton Road between noon and 1.30pm on Sunday.
